Imagine appreciating a private, secure, impeccably clean apartment in the historic district of Charleston. It is filled with chic antiques but is a comfortable, casual home. The 3rd floor apartment with elevator access was originally a c. 1888 school converted into elegant condos with attractively maintained gardens and grounds including outdoor dining area . The property is located on one of the best streets in the city, Legare Street, is locked 24/7, with secure gate-only access and one dedicated parking spot. Off-street parking is simple for guests. Should you like a weekly or bi-weekly housekeeper, ours will be happy to work with you . She has worked with us for 8 years and makes life a dream!
This unit was refreshed in the past 2 years and includes original heart pine floor, extraordinary 13 foot ceilings with a full eastern wall of 10-foot windows (watch the sun rise over the city!) and charming vistas of St. Phillips and St. Michael's steeples, making it feel like New York or Paris living, but in our striking Charleston setting. The kitchen includes a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and induction range, which is remarkable for those who haven't used one. We adore to prepare and you will find nearly everything you need for cooking. Finest of all you have 3 Bialetti expresso makers and enchanting electronic whipper. If you have not had the enjoyment of Bialetti coffee, we predict you will never go back to your former routine. We also celebrate the finest shower we have ever had!
Although the home was sold as a two-bedroom, we have converted those rooms to a suite with wide double doors to join them. The space is set up as a 1 Bedroom and a Study which can be completely closed off for work or peaceful Zoom meetings. The building is mostly absentee owners so extremely peaceful and includes a variety of ages from 30's - 80's.
A five min. walk to the shopping district on King Street and many of the best eateries in Charleston such as Fig, 167 Raw, and Bin 152, Lowland Cafe. It is an painless walk to The Battery with its elegant architecture and history. Still, it is well off the beaten path of tourists other than the carriage tours.
This will never be a place for events other than peaceful dinners for a modest group of friends. Because of strict rules around dogs, we aren't able to allow family pets. This is a place for adults over 30 who want a chic environment, security, beauty, a ideal historic location, off street parking and tranquility and peaceful.
The apartment is ideal for a single or couple working from home or just wanting to take in the sensory pleasures of historic Charleston; the location is ideal. The 29401 zip code is considered the best in the city. We are 1/2 block "north of Broad" - a few min. walk to South of Broad one of the country's most pretty and historically preserved neighborhoods.

Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in Charleston:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Historic downtown designer apartment near Broad\/King 30 day min private parking has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
