How to find the best Charleston area vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. Reserve your Charleston area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking your Charleston area rental home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pavilion a la Plage on Isle of Palms ~ PORCH, GAS GRILL, STEPS FROM THE BEACH! has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any damages. - Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
