Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. Reserve your Charleston area vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Get Away Oasis with Private Pool, Pets considered, two houses from the beach - The Pink House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
