Tips for getting the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Charleston area rental & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Charleston area vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
