Charleston rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. Reserve your Charleston area rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Downtown Charleston 8 Bedroom has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Charleston area beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
