How to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Charleston & When to book:
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Charleston area rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- 1 Block from King St has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
