When to visit & When to reserve a Charleston rental home:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Charleston area vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. The Saint Philip House
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
