Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Charleston. Reserve your Charleston area rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Charleston area vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Daniel Legare Suite In the Heart of Charleston has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
