Getting the best Charleston area vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To book the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. The Ashley Veranda King Suite includes Breakfast has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Charleston area beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
