Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Charleston area rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Charleston area trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming 2 Bed\/2Bath Newly Renovated-Location!\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
