Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Stylish, Comfortable, Downtown Charmer has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
