Charleston area rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your Charleston area rental:
- To start, have your group agree to dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Top Floor Unit in a Duplex w\/Porch, Yard + FREE Parking has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
