Located in the heart of the peninsula, close by amenities include MUSC, College of Charleston, Colonial Lake Park, King Street and the South of Broad neighborhood. Constructed circa 1816 and known to historians as the Theodore Galliard House, this home is recognized in historic archives as a home of historical significance in Charleston.

With a charming location in Charleston's Harleston Village, this attractively designed home features double-tiered south piazza, 14' ceilings, elaborate moldings, a hand-crafted copper roof and plenty of character. The area around The Ashley Residence - One features an eclectic mix of Antebellum homes and modern townhouses located along beautiful tree-lined streets. Ideal for strolling, this park-filled family-friendly locale is also home to fashionable eateries and historic attractions.

As the Main floor unit of this fashonable home, The Ashley Residence - One features all of the classic architectural details that make historic homes in Charleston so beautiful. With dramatic ceiling heights, late Federal and Regency style woodwork, elaborate chandeliers and plenty of outdoor living space on the piazza to take in the vistas. Freshly modernized interiors in June 2023 with dramatic lighting and comfortable, fresh furnishings, this unit includes 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, formal living room, modern, well-appointed chef's kitchen with high end appliances, center island with bar seating for four and separate dining area that seats six. Each full bathroom includes a intelligent toilet with warming features and bidet. Adjacent to the kitchen, this main floor includes a separate 1/2 bath powder room for convenient use when entertaining.

With a one-flight-up exterior staircase, or access to the main floor via a secure, shared elevator, you'll step into an extravagant broad entry. Directly off the entryway, you can relax in the main-level primary suite with KING bed, with sumptuous ensuite bathroom appointed with a steam shower with rain shower head and separate soaking tub. Upstairs on the second floor of this unit, you will find a guest bedroom with KING Bed and private bathroom. Up another flight, the third floor offers skyline vistas from the third guest bedroom, with KING bed and close by access to the hall bath.

The Ashley Residence - One incudes washer/dryer, plus elevator that delivers you from the ground level parking area directly into the main floor of the unit, and shared outdoor rear yard with gorgeous fountain. You will appreciate the walk everywhere lifestyle that comes with living in historic downtown Charleston including a short walk to popular eateries including Fuel, 132 Spring Coffee Shop, R Kitchen and Sixty Bull Cafe.

Finding the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, change your family's Charleston area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New Listing: Majestic Historic Monthly Rental has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
