Finding the best Charleston area rental experience:

- Summer is high season in Charleston. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself.
