Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
