Booking the best Charleston rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the bestrental home:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Boutique Home & Resort Pool ‘Tuckertown’ has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
