Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Charleston area vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Charleston area rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3200 SPECIAL plus fee, Monthly minimum rental has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
