Tricks and tips for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanside Shipwatch Villa, Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
