Booking the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Charleston area area:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront, Renovated w\/ screened porch & community pool - 33 Beach Club has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a particular Charleston area beach you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
