Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Charleston. To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in Charleston:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Downtown Duplex - Spring St - Sleeps 26 has 9 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Charleston area beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
