How to find the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Isle of Palms:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Renovated, Very Modern Beach Home on Quiet Street, Close to Beach & Marina! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
