  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. The Nicholas Carriage King Suite - Walk to King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
