How to get the best Charleston area vacation property experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental in the Charleston area area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly & Convenient 2 Bedroom with private fenced in yard and Hottub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
