Finding the best Charleston vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your Charleston area vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Indigo Suite at 360 King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book your rental. • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
