Tips and Tricks to get the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. Book your Charleston area rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Isle of Palms:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Gorgeous Home in the Beachside Community w\/ Community Pool and Tennis Facilities! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
