The Space: Brighton House is a part of the Revival Street Collection, a site of historic homes which have been gorgeously modernized and ‘revived” from their Victorian era glory days. Following the path down the driveway to Brighton House you are greeted by the bungalow’s sizable welcoming piazzas, an architectural staple here in Charleston, where you can sit and catch the breeze, chat with friends and family, and make your way in.
On the ground floor of the home you will find two of the three bedrooms. The front bedroom homes a enormous king bed, bespoke design elements such as dual closets, and a bright en-suite bathroom with a single vanity and neutral toned tile shower/tub combo. Exterior access to the ground floor piazza is given through this bedroom as well.
The back bedroom is the master bedroom of the bungalow and features unique and historical design elements coupled with handsome modern fixtures and amenities. The master includes a sizable king bed, kitchenette area, and a huge en-suite bathroom where guests can relax and reset after a long day of sightseeing. The en-suite bath features a double vanity, a huge clawfoot tub, and a separate shower and water closet with a pocket door for added privacy. For guests interested in the historical and artistic elements of the home, the master bed’s headboard features a unique and artistic fabric design created and crafted as a celebration piece of African-American history and culture in the style of French Toile. The design, named ‘Harlem Toile’, “lampoons some of the stereotypes deeply woven into the African American experience.” It was designed by Sheila Bridges, an African-American artist and designer from the Harlem neighborhood of NYC, and is supplied in the permanent collection of Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.
The home’s living spaces are primarily found on the second floor to take advantage of the huge second floor piazza. As you can see, it is the best place for the group to gather to talk about the plans for the day, share a meal at the large table, and appreciate the elegant Charleston weather! With ample space and seating for everybody, you will find yourselves living the outdoor lifestyle day and nighttime.
Inside you’ll find the cozy yet cavernous living area featuring comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and a dining table for six. Open to the living area is the kitchen which features all the modern stainless steel appliances and amenities you could need for a nighttime in cooking a excellent meal for the family.
The third and final bedroom is located off of the kitchen and features a full size bed, closet space, and an en-suite bathroom which can be accessed from another door off the kitchen as well. This bathroom homes a single vanity and large delightfully tiled glass walk-in shower
All bedrooms also include flat screen TVs for all your streaming needs, sumptuous linens and towels for each stay, and opulent bath amenities for your convenience. There’s no need to worry about parking either, Brighton House includes one off street parking space so you’ll always have a space for one rental or family car.

Our top Charleston area rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Charleston area restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Revival St Collection has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
