Tricks and tips to get the optimal Charleston area vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. La Casita is located in the heart of West Ashley. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
