How to book the best Sullivans Island rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 1307 Cove Avenue by AvantStay
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
