Tips and Tricks for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect rental home in Isle of Palms:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- 0.5mi Walk to the Beach, Pool, Patio, Large Yard has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
