Our top Isle of Palms rental booking tips:
Finding the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Selecting the best rental in Isle of Palms:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Classic Family Beach Home w\/Game Room & Private Pool! Short 1 Block Walk to Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
