You'll have access to the entire upstairs of the home (with a private entrance) and the wrap-around porch. You will not have to share any common areas with the downstairs guests. Parking included as well!
The Neighborhood:
The Elliotborough/Cannonborough district of downtown Charleston. With its friendly neighbors, comfortable eateries, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic appeal. This home is ideal for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The home is only a short walk from the very trendy King Street where you will find a multitude of great stores – including antique stores, book stores and fashion stores – as well as countless buzzing eateries and bars.

Rental home tips:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. THE PENTHOUSE Historic Victorian, Downtown Home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
