Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Charleston area rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. ? DELANA SUITE ? New Prime Downtown Spot! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
