Charleston is one of the most fashionable vacation destinations in the South. From history and dining to shopping and sightseeing, there's something to do around every corner of the city. Located in the heart of the city along Upper King Street, the resort is within walking distance of award-winning eateries, art galleries, great shopping and more. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride along cobblestone streets past stately and lovingly-preserved antebellum mansions and graceful gardens. Shop for antiques, savor lunch at a tavern dating back to the Revolution or walk down to Waterfront Park to view Fort Sumter still guarding the harbor–the first shots of the Civil War were fired here.

The resort assigns the specific unit around the time of check-in so your view may vary. Let us know if you have a preference to be near a specific location throughout the resort or if you would like a specific view. We will gladly notate your preference and send this over to the resort as your stay gets closer. Please notate that requests are not guaranteed.

Other Notes: There are no laundry facilities onsite or in units

Tricks and tips to get the perfect Charleston area rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Charleston. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Charleston area area:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. King Street Boutique Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
