Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Charleston. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Charleston area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home in the Charleston area area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. ZenDeck & Courtyard - King Room & Double Room - Pet Friendly - Across from Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
