How to find the best Charleston rental experience:
When to book a Charleston area rental & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Charleston. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book a perfect Charleston area vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. ZenDeck & Courtyard - King Room & Double Room - Pet Friendly - Across from Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
