Booking the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Open and Comfy home w\/ HOT TUB near Downtown-Folly Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
