Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Harleston House
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
