How to book the best Charleston rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental in Charleston:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Historic 1905 Charming Bungalow 2 Blocks From King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
