Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the perfect Charleston area rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. CLASSIC and Cozy IOP Beach Home, Family-Friendly, Walk to Marina! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
