Our top Charleston rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. To find the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your Charleston area vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Charming 2BR with Artistic Details and Parking! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
