Strategies to get the best Charleston rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Overlook on King has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
