Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Charleston rental home:
- To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the best rental home in Charleston:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. ?THE INNS? Elegant 1BR\/1BA Carriage Home Downtown! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
