How to book the best rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Charleston area vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 9B Mariners Walk, Wild Dunes has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Charleston area beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
