Getting the best Charleston area rental experience:

When to visit Charleston & When to book:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Downtown Condo 1 Block to King with Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
