Getting the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Upgraded SEAGROVE Villa! Beachside, Desirable Location! Pool Access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area beach you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
