INCLEMENT WEATHER
Your safety and comfort are our priority. In the unlikely event of a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER FOR CHARLESTON COUNTY during your stay, rest assured that both the Owner/Host and the Property Management Company WILL REFUND 100% OF YOUR PAYMENTS. Once refunded, neither event will have further liability regarding your Reservation.
Please note that ONLY MANDATORY EVACUATIONS WILL QUALIFY FOR REFUNDS. No other travel disruptions due to weather, whether in South Carolina or other states, are eligible. For protection, consider travel insurance, especially in high-risk months like hurricane season. Airbnb's insurance or other options are recommended.
INSECTS
As Charleston is located in a warm, coastal climate it is possible to see insects inside or outside of the home at times. These include palmetto bugs, sand gnats, mosquitoes, ants, etc. Those who live in the Lowcountry just accept this as part of living here but it may be unsettling for those from other areas. The home is treated regularly for pest control but this will not entirely eliminate insects from getting inside at times. Please do your best to not keep doors and windows open and not leave food or drinks out in the home as this will attract insects. FINDING AN INSECT IS NOT CAUSE FOR A REFUND

Charleston rental property booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Charleston area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sunny Haven 4br\/2ba Retreat near Folly w\/ Backyard Oasis! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
