Booking the best Charleston area rental home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Charleston area rental:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. This house is a 2 bedroom(s), 2 bathrooms, located in Charleston, SC. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
