Charleston rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Serene Courtyard & Parking - 2 Blocks to King! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
