Charleston rental home booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking yourrental:
- First and foremost, have your family choose date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Private Detached Guest House Close to Historic Charleston has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
