Strategies to get the perfect Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Charleston area area:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. New Listing! Lagoon View, close to Beach and Pool, Ping-Pong, and more! - 6 Ocean Point has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Charleston area destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
