Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental:
- Start by having your group select trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Lola Suite at 360 King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area destination you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
